OUR STORY · SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

Built to spark confidence, connection and self-expression.

What started as bucket hats for a festival in 2022 became something much bigger.

Inspire Threads began when my friends and I wanted custom bucket hats for a festival in Sydney. It was supposed to be something fun, expressive and a little different.

Somewhere along the way, I realised the hats were doing more than completing an outfit — they were giving people a reason to talk.

Made to start conversations.

WHY IT GREW

It stopped being just about the hat.

People wearing Inspire Threads bucket hats together

As a university student, I saw how easy it was to feel isolated even while surrounded by people.

Inspire Threads became a small way to break through that. Something colourful enough to get noticed, playful enough to start a conversation, and expressive enough to make people feel more like themselves.

The product was still a bucket hat. But the reason behind it became confidence, connection and self-expression.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

Far beyond what I imagined.

From local markets and early mornings in 2023, Inspire Threads grew into selling out at the Easter Show, winning awards, raising over $2,000 for charity , and reaching 5,000 bucket hats sold by the end of 2025.

Today, Inspire Threads has expanded interstate, worked with businesses on custom bucket hats , and continues to grow through pop-ups, markets and events around Australia.

MORE THAN A PRODUCT

Sometimes it becomes a memory.

I’ve had people go backpacking wearing an Inspire Threads bucket hat and ask everyone they meet to sign it.

That kind of thing is what makes this feel bigger than a product. A hat can end up attached to a trip, a friendship, a festival, a random conversation or a moment someone remembers years later.

“The best part isn't just seeing someone wear the hat. It's seeing what happens while they're wearing it.”
